Welcoming New Faces to the Tabor Opera House Preservation Foundation

The Tabor Opera House Preservation Foundation is proud to announce the addition of esteemed members to its board of directors, marking a significant stride in its mission to preserve and promote the historic Tabor Opera House. Gena Buhler, Whitney Gilbert-Clarkson, and Eric Johns Jr. join the board, and their passion and expertise promise to invigorate the foundation’s efforts.

In tandem with these appointments, the foundation has elected a dynamic leadership team to guide its endeavors. Amy Tait assumes the role of president, with Sara Edwards serving as vice president, Nell Lindquist as secretary, and Erin Leosz as assistant secretary. Greg Decent continues in his vital role as treasurer, supported by Aaron Roth as assistant treasurer and J. Edward Nelson representing Lake County.

Sarah Dae, the foundation’s executive director, expressed enthusiasm for the new additions, stating, “The Tabor Opera House Preservation Foundation is thrilled to welcome these new members to the board.” Dae also expressed gratitude to outgoing board members Jenny Buddenborg and Veronica Moreno for their dedicated service, underscoring the collaborative spirit driving the Tabor’s revitalization.

Meet the New Board Members:

Gena Buhler: With over two decades of experience as a venue executive and an event production and management background, Gena brings invaluable expertise to the board. Her leadership roles at esteemed venues such as the Wheeler Opera House and Vilar Performing Arts Center reflect her commitment to fostering cultural institutions.

Whitney Gilbert-Clarkson: A seasoned digital marketer, Whitney is dedicated to elevating the Tabor Opera House’s profile as a cultural cornerstone. With a focus on user experience and web optimization, she aims to enhance the Tabor’s visibility and engagement, drawing inspiration from its illustrious past.

Eric Johns Jr.: As a youth liaison, Eric represents the next generation of community leaders deeply invested in the Tabor’s legacy. His longstanding involvement with the Tabor and his family’s connection to Leadville’s historic Silver Dollar Saloon underscores his commitment to preserving local heritage.
