Foundation Seeks Summer Docents

The Tabor Opera House Preservation Foundation is accepting applications for summer docents. Docents will give guided tours sharing the history of the Tabor Opera House, the Tabor family, and Leadville’s people, places, and events. They will also assist with ticket sales and promotions.

This season, the Foundation will offer both English-language and Spanish-language tours. The Foundation is seeking

  • Docents who speak English and
  • Docents who are bilingual in English and Spanish.

These part-time positions will run from May 27 through September 2022.

Qualifications include strong public speaking and accurate storytelling skills, the ability to engage guests and adhere to a timed tour schedule, the willingness and ability to learn the history of the Tabor Opera House and Leadville, flexibility, and the ability to work with diverse audiences, a reliable and strong work ethic, and reliability.

Compensation begins at $15 per hour.
