Participants are invited to a bilingual weekend of Mexican arts\, food\, crafts and folk dance with  visiting artist Sara Perez\, founder of Ballet Folklórico in the city of Elgin\, Texas.  This workshop allows young people to explore the power of dance\, and the cultural traditions of Mexico. This is for youth with or without prior knowledge of Mexican folkloric dance\, who wish to strengthen their bodies\, improve coordination and posture\, and practice folkloric dance and Mexican culture. DESCRIPTION:A fast-paced theatrical experience!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA celebration of local talent\, our 24-hour theater fest brings together four writers\, four directors\, a dozen local performers\, and a house band\, to create 4 fun\, fresh and playful plays from start to finish in under 24 hours. Enjoy some of your favorite Leadville talent\, be introduced to new voices\, and leave inspired by the energy and connections of our growing local community of live performers. Featuring J Edward Nelson (Cloud City Theater Company\, Bekah Grim (Bitterbush)\, Blue Mooers (Bitterbush) and more TBA! \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWhat is the 24 hour fest you might ask? \n\n\n\nIn September\, the Tabor and Lyric will pre-select 4 directors and 4 writers and 12+ local performers. These folks gather for the first time on Friday October 10 at 6pm in the Tabor north store. We pull random teams of director/writer/performer out of a hat – and some fun prompts for the writers. Then the writers have 12 hours to write a 12 minute play. Saturday morning they deliver the script to the director who has 12 hours to rehearse and stage it. Audiences see these new 12 minute plays on stage at the Tabor starting at 7pm Saturday night – October 11th. Our house band for the event – Uke Box – will perform juke box songs (selected by the audience) as interludes between each play.  A super fun event celebrating local talent\, creativity and community. \n\n\n\nGot Talent?
