DESCRIPTION:Celebrating BIPOC voices in Classical Music\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHailed by The Strad for playing with “tremendous heart and beauty\,” the Ivalas Quartet has been changing the face of classical music since its inception in 2017 with a mission to enrich the classical music world by spotlighting past and present BIPOC composers alongside the standard repertory. Among the many composers whose works they have championed are Eleanor Alberga\, Gabriela Lena Frank\, Osvaldo Golijov\, Jessie Montgomery\, Angélica Negrón\, Iván Enrique Rodríguez\, Carlos Simon\, Alvin Singleton\, and George Walker. They premiered Derrick Skye’s Deliverance through a commission from Caramoor in 2024. \n\n\n\nThe Ivalas Quartet served as the Graduate Resident String Quartet at The Juilliard School from 2022 to 2024\, where they studied with the Juilliard String Quartet. DESCRIPTION:Celtic Rock\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA concert to benefit the Leadville Irish Miners’ Memorial & the Tabor Opera House Preservation Foundation produced with Shack Club & GBB&L Foundation. \n\n\n\nFounded in 1988\, The Young Dubliners’ raucous live shows earned them comparisons to The Pogues and The Levellers early in their career\, a reputation they’ve cemented in the ensuing decades. Although the Young Dubliners sound is most commonly called ‘Celtic Rock’\, that label can often be misleading. The Irish influence is certainly there\, but it’s not the only influence that bursts through on their albums or live shows. The band is Keith Roberts (vocals / guitar)\, Chas Waltz (Violin\, keys\, vocals)\, Justin Pecot (guitar\, vocals)\, Dave Ingraham (drums) and Ethan Jones (bass guitar). The Young Dubliners have released nine albums to date. DESCRIPTION:A fast-paced theatrical experience!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA celebration of local talent\, our 24-hour theater fest brings together four writers\, four directors\, a dozen local performers\, and a house band\, to create 4 fun\, fresh and playful plays from start to finish in under 24 hours. Enjoy some of your favorite Leadville talent\, be introduced to new voices\, and leave inspired by the energy and connections of our growing local community of live performers. Featuring J Edward Nelson (Cloud City Theater Company\, Bekah Grim (Bitterbush)\, Blue Mooers (Bitterbush) and more TBA! \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWhat is the 24 hour fest you might ask? \n\n\n\nIn September\, the Tabor and Lyric will pre-select 4 directors and 4 writers and 12+ local performers. These folks gather for the first time on Friday October 10 at 6pm in the Tabor north store. We pull random teams of director/writer/performer out of a hat – and some fun prompts for the writers. Then the writers have 12 hours to write a 12 minute play. Saturday morning they deliver the script to the director who has 12 hours to rehearse and stage it. Audiences see these new 12 minute plays on stage at the Tabor starting at 7pm Saturday night – October 11th. Our house band for the event – Uke Box – will perform juke box songs (selected by the audience) as interludes between each play.  A super fun event celebrating local talent\, creativity and community. \n\n\n\nGot Talent?
